Introduction
In Atomfall, the Signal Redirector is one of the most important devices you’ll need—especially from the mid-game onward. Without it, you simply can’t progress in certain quests or systems. But how do you actually get one?
There are two main ways to acquire a Signal Redirector, and both start with a conversation with Nora at Nora’s Barn.
If you’re interested in exploring Atomfall’s side quests, the Little Tea Room quest is a great early optional story with emotional depth and hidden lore.

Route 1: How to Get a Signal Redirector via Dr. Garrow (Main Story Path)
One path involves tracking down Dr. Garrow, who is imprisoned in the Skethemore Prison, located south of Skethemore.
Once you find her and initiate a conversation, Dr. Garrow will give you the details you need to locate the Signal Redirector.
This route ties directly into the main storyline, so if you’re naturally following the campaign, you’ll encounter it without much extra effort.
Just a heads-up: unless you’ve been kissing Captain Sims’s butt on a regular basis, expect the Protocol guys to go full Rambo on you.

Route 2: Fastest Way to Get a Signal Redirector – Windfall Location
Nora also mentions a missing scientific cargo that supposedly contains a Signal Redirector. This leads to the second route—one that’s more optional, but faster in execution.
Start by heading left of Nora’s Barn, where you’ll find the Protocol Workshop. Inside, retrieve the Windfall key.

Then, move to the Protocol Field Station and use the key to unlock the cargo container. Inside, turn left and open the first door — that’s where you’ll find the Signal Redirector.

Dr. Garrow or Windfall — Which Route Should You Take?
If you’re mainly here for the main storyline and prefer not to detour into side content, the Dr. Garrow route is the natural fit. It’s integrated into the main campaign and requires no additional planning.
However, if you’re looking for the fastest and most efficient way to get a Signal Redirector, and you’re comfortable engaging with side content, the Windfall route is your best bet. It’s quicker, has fewer enemies, and doesn’t disrupt the main narrative flow.
